Final Fantasy 7 Remake one of the biggest games of 2020, and now it’s getting an update for 2021. The game is coming to PlayStation 5 – but not just with 4K, 60 frames per second graphics.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, as the update is called, will launch worldwide on June 10th. It features the original game plus some sort of expansion, as the trailer showed scenes and gameplay with Yuffie, a popular character in Final Fantasy 7 who didn’t appear in Remake.
And the best news? If you own the PlayStation 4 version, you can get a free upgrade to Intergrade, including the “new episode” with Yuffie.

The news was broken with a trailer Sony’s State of Play presentation, which also included announcements of a new Oddworld game, as well as deeper insights into Deathloop, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, and more. It’s also one of several announcements developer Square Enix made on Thursday regarding Final Fantasy 7. It also revealed two mobile games: a battle royale set before the events of Final Fantasy 7, and Ever Crisis, a mobile game. covering the entire Final Fantasy 7 story, including prequels, sequels, and spin-offs.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake is not a true remake of Final Fantasy 7. Rather, it takes the first part of the PS1 game, set in the dystopian city of Midgar, and expanded it into its own game with great success. Yuffie in the original joins the party after they leave Midgar, so she didn’t appear in last year’s match.

Square Enix is changing things up by bringing Yuffie to Midgar so early, as shown in the trailer. The Intergrade sneak peek also introduced Weiss, a villain from Final Fantasy 7’s successor Dirge of Cerberus. But if you completed Final Fantasy 7 Remake, you would know not to expect the Remake project to reflect the original
Square Enix is preparing Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2, where development began prior to the launch of Remake last year, but we don’t have a release timetable. Her also busy with Final Fantasy 16, so the FF fans among us have a lot to look forward to.
