Female executive accuses Cuomo of groping her

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) is again being charged with misconduct – this time by an unnamed female assistant who claimed to the Albany Times Union on Wednesday that he “aggressively touched her in a sexually charged manner.” Cuomo denies the claims.

Driving the news: The staffer said the incident took place after she was “summoned to the governor’s house late last year.” The Times Union reports that Cuomo “allegedly reached under her blouse and started caressing her.”

What he says: Cuomo in an emailed statement called the report “heartbreaking,” but added, “I’ve never done anything like it.”

The big picture: It is the latest in a string of allegations of sexual and professional misconduct by the controversial governor, all of which he denies.

  • Cuomo is also facing a federal investigation into his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic in New York nursing homes.
