Federal judge rules ‘QAnon shaman’ too dangerous to be released from prison

Jacob Chansley, the self-proclaimed “QAnon Shaman” who took part in the January 6 riot at the Capitol, will not be released prior to his trial, a federal judge said Monday.

In court documents cited by CNN, Judge Royce Lamberth argued that Chansley’s statements were old President TrumpDonald TrumpUS, South Korea agree on troop cost-sharing Graham: Trump can make GOP bigger, stronger, or he ‘can destroy it’ Biden nominates female generals whose promotions were reportedly delayed under Trump MORE responsible for his alleged illegal entry into the Capitol, showed that Chansley was unrepentant for his actions.

“The defendant describes himself as a peaceful person who was welcomed to the Capitol by police officers on January 6. The court finds none of his many attempts to manipulate the evidence and minimize the seriousness of his actions convincing,” the judge continued.
