Federal authorities invite you to communicate if you have committed PUA fraud

The head of the US law firm in Puerto Rico, Stephen Muldrow, invited anyone who has committed fraud to the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) program to communicate with federal authorities and avoid further consequences.

At a press conference intended to provide details on a series of arrests of people for committing fraud in such a government program, Muldrow also invited everyone he knows of a similar plan to do the same.

“I want to send a message to people who know about others who have been guilty of these types of schemes and we have not charged them yet: call the authorities and file the complaint,” Muldrow said from the headquarters of the prosecutor’s office in Hato Rey. . .

“For people who have been guilty of these types of schemes and we have not yet charged them, as I have recommended on previous occasions, please contact law enforcement and provide their information. The sooner they speak, the less the consequences will be. You and your family can suffer, “he added.

The statements emerged during a press conference to provide details of the arrest of nine people for committing fraud against the PUA, who were part of a plan involving about 12 people in total.
