M.anuel Pellegrini has received high praise Lionel Messi in front of Real Betis‘ meeting with Barcelona on Sunday evening.
After transfer requests, contract leaks and ongoing questions about his future, the Argentinian has been the focus of many a headline this season.
“I think Messieven though he may have things off the field or difficult moments or decisions about his future, shows in every game that he still has the Messi of all the games he’s played since he started Barcelona, ” Pilgrims said in his pre-match press conference.
“He is a unique and different player, someone who has behaved Barcelona to fame for many years.
“I don’t think there is anything special that we can take advantage of [with him].
“The decisive factor is that we have to have a good game, with personality, knowing that we are up against good players.
“Make no mistakes, perform well and keep the spirit that the team has shown over the past two and a half months.”
