W.ith Luis Suarez in brilliant form for Atletico Madrid, the man who discovered the Uruguayan as a youth, Martin Lasarte, has suggested that the player was right to leave Barcelona.
Suarez spent six years at the Nou Camp, winning four LaLiga Santander titles, four Copa del Rey trophies and the Champions League in a glittering career before joining Atletico in the summer.
“I’m sure some in Barcelona will regret it [letting him go], ” Lasarte told Radio MARCA. “In a situation like this, where there is an administrative issue, things are complicated.
“Suarez seemed like he was entering the twilight of his career. Now he has a new glow and a new place.
“Maybe he did well to get out of the comfort zone Barcelona. “
Until now this season Suarez has scored 12 LaLiga Santander goals, such as Atletico sits seven points clear of Real Madrid on top of the table, with one game in hand.
