V.ictor Font has appealed again Barcelona to complete signing Eric Garcia before the end of the January carryover period.
With no permanent president in place yet at the Camp Nou, the Catalan club has not chosen to make a deal for the Manchester City defender this month.
“Barcelona is not about to win many things at the moment,” he said Ronald Koeman Saturday admitted.
“Koeman’s comments this lunchtime show that there has been no sports project for the club for some time now,” said Presidential candidate Font.
“One way to interpret what he said, within the means, would be to urgently contract Eric Garcia to join the rear.”
With Gerard Pique out injured and Samuel UmtitiBarcelona’s fitness problems are pretty short in terms of defensive options. They can draw Eric Garcia free – but only in summer.
“[Garcia] is a signing that the coach and the sports department are asking for, as the Copa del Rey is nearing a decisive phase, the Champions League is coming and Real Madrid are dabbling in LaLiga, ” added Font.
“Together we must help to have the best possible team that can challenge for titles this season.”
