FC Barcelona – La Liga Xavi’s milestone in sight

If the Argentinian plays 18 more games for the Blaugrana in the second half of this season, he will catch up Xavi at the top of the club’s rankings.
The current Al Sadd boss made 767 performances Barcelona colors during his career before going to play and coach in Qatar.
If you take the rest into account LaLiga Santander fixtures and the two legs against Paris Saint Germain in the last 16 of the Champions League, Barcelona will have 24 matches to play in those competitions alone in 2020/21.
There is of course the Copa del Rey and Spain Supercup also to participate. Clearly Messi will play more games as Barcelona progress in all of their knockout competitions.
While knocking Xavi off the top of his stick by the end of the season is a realistic goal, Messi will be able to beat one of his former teammate’s records by February.
When the 33-year-old plays BarcelonaIn his next five games at LaLiga Santander, he will level with Xavi’s club record for appearances in Spain’s top flight. Messi is currently at 500.
