Anthony Fauci, the US government’s top infectious disease expert, said he had mild side effects after receiving a second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
“I hoped I wouldn’t get too knocked out. I did it for about 24 hours. Now I’m fine, ”he said at an event at the White House on Thursday.
Fauci, an adviser to President Joe Biden on Covid-19, he said felt tired and painful, “not sick.”
The mild side effects are consistent with what vaccine manufacturers reported in their clinical studies and are signs of the body’s immune response to the inoculation.
Fauci received the shot from Moderna Inc. held a public ceremony last month to build confidence in the vaccine.
