Fauci predicts that the J&J vaccine will somehow return this week

Fauci, who appeared on CNN’s “State of the Union,” said he believed the vaccine administration would “get back on track” by Friday.

“Well, I think we’ll have a decision by then. Now I want the CDC and the [Food and Drug Administration] and the advisory committee, but I imagine what we’ll see is it would come back and it would come back in some kind of warning or restriction, ”Fauci said.

‘Again, I don’t know. I don’t want to get ahead of them, but I keep being asked. I think we’ll get it back somehow, ”Fauci added. “I hope we won’t see anything after Friday. Somehow we have to make a decision before Friday.”

Administration of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine was interrupted last week after officials observed six blood clots out of the nearly 7 million doses administered in the US. Many health officials have expressed concern that pausing the vaccine would fuel hesitancy about the vaccine.
