Fauci has a one-word answer to the question about ‘what has changed’ around January 20th

Dr. Anthony Fauci finally appeared on “The Late Show” Friday for his first coronavirus pandemic interview with Stephen Colbert.

And the country’s top infectious disease expert, who is President Joe Biden’s chief medical adviser, wasted no time casting shadow on former President Donald Trump – whose pandemic politicization has severely criticized Fauci.

“I’ve wanted to employ you for a year. We tried to have you almost every week for a year. We never got hold of you, ”Colbert said to Fauci.

“ Your schedule really opened around January 20, ” the late night host continued, referring to Biden’s inauguration and Trump’s departure from the White House.

“What changed?” Colbert asked.

“Everything,” laughed Fauci, setting Colbert in motion.

“Well, I hope it keeps changing,” Colbert replied.

Elsewhere in the interview, Fauci said the pandemic would “absolutely” end – it was just a question of when, depending on vaccination programs and people who continue to wear masks and social distance.
