Rumors of beef between Taylor Swift and Karlie Kloss have been circulating for years, and the singer further fueled the fire with two new bonus tracks for her “Evermore” album, which came out Thursday.
Fans speculate that in the song ‘It’s time to go’, Swift hints at Kloss as she sings, ‘If a sister’s words come back in a whisper, it proves she wasn’t in fact what she seemed.
The 31-year-old artist went on to sing, “Not a twin of your dreams, she’s a con man who got caught.”
And others pointed to another set of lyrics that could target the 28-year-old model in Swift’s other song “Where You Left Me,” where she sings, “Friends break up, friends get married.”
As fans noted, Swift did not attend any of Kloss’s two wedding ceremonies with Josh Kushner.
Swift took to Instagram to clarify the meaning of her bonus tracks.
“The increasingly luxurious album with 2 bonus tracks ‘just where you left me’ and ‘it’s time to go’ is now available!” Swift wrote on Instagram on Friday. “The first is a song about a girl who stayed forever where her heart was broken, completely frozen in time. It’s time to go is about listening to your gut when it tells you to leave. How do you always know before you know it? 🍂 “
The former besties used to be inseparable. But as Page Six reported earlier in August 2019, things took a turn when Kloss reportedly took advantage of Swift’s hospitality.
Neither, however, has publicly confirmed what was behind the demise of their friendship.
