It’s now been just over three years since Bayonetta 3 was first confirmed as being in development for Nintendo Switch, but we’ve had little to do since then, other than little reassurances telling us that everything is ‘going really well,’ very smooth, “fine” and again “very good”. Blimey.
However, it seems we could be quite a way from learning more; PlatinumGames co-founder Hideki Kamiya has already told fans he hopes to share more about the title in 2021, but thanks to a new interview with VGC, it looks like nothing has been set in stone yet. Here’s what Kamiya had to say when asked about this possible 2021 update:
It’s not really our position to say, but … it’s January. We have to let something out, right? I think it’s safe to expect something to come out. There is still a great deal of the year that I have, ”I say. “
When asked for more details on what to expect in this final update, Kamiya jokes that fans should “reset and forget” the game so any new announcements will be a welcome surprise:
“I understand it’s driving fans crazy! In light of that, my suggestion would be that maybe we should all reset and forget about Bayonetta 3. And then when something finally happens, it will be a nice surprise, won’t it?”
In the same interview, PlatinumGames also confirmed that the Astral Chain IP is now wholly owned by Nintendo, having originally been a co-owned franchise.
