Elden Ring, FromSoftware’s next game, has always been out for a long time – but it recently hit cult status due to the Japanese developer’s silence. What is the status of this project? And why is it taking so long to get back out into the open? Comments from several journalists have raised hopes that a reopening is imminent.
First, it’s the turn of GamesBeat writer who has become the crystal ball viewer of video games Jeff Grubb: he indicated on a podcast that the game may be showing in late March. However, he did add the industry’s infamous disclaimer, “I know enough to be confident, but if it fell in April, I’d apologize, but I’ll keep saying you won’t be waiting long.”
Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier has since echoed Grubb’s comments Twitter: “I know a lot of people are desperate for news about Elden Ring. I don’t know much about it, except that it has been delayed a lot. But there are strong indications that the game will be released relatively soon. It’s not going to be a wind of winter. Elden Ring has pages. “
So there is a reopening imminent. Both sources are reliable, and while plans can change behind the scenes of course, it sounds like some kind of update is almost certainly in the immediate pipeline. We’re taking that for now, as we’re desperate for more on this project – hopefully it’s not too far off.
