Famicom Detective Club is getting a Collector’s Edition in Japan

Nintendo’s remakes of Famicom Detective Club has been known for a while. Announced earlier in 2019, Nintendo Direct confirmed Wednesday The missing heir and The girl behind launching on May 14 release date and bringing Western localizations for the first time.

In preparation for this, Nintendo has just unveiled a new collector’s edition for Japan. Includes both games on a single cartridge, which comes with a 174-page artbook, featuring the character and concept art from the remake. It also includes design documents from the original releases, dating back to 1988 and 1989.

Reprints of the original game’s promotional flyers are featured, along with a 75-track soundtrack featuring tracks from the Famicom / NES version. There’s no word yet on a Western release for this collector’s edition, but we’ll keep you posted if that changes.
