Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced on Wednesday that the company will no longer recommend social and political groups to its users.

The change comes after the Capitol uprising on Jan. 6.

“This is a continuation of the work we’ve been doing for a while to lower the temperature and discourage divisive talks,” Zuckerberg said in a phone conversation with analysts about the company’s fourth-quarter results.

This comes after the company temporarily decided in October to stop recommending these groups to US users ahead of the 2020 US election.

Additionally, Zuckerberg said the company is now considering steps to reduce the amount of political content users see in their news feed.

“One of the most important feedback we are hearing from our community right now is that people don’t want politics and fighting to take over their experience with our services,” said Zuckerberg.
