The Secretary of the Health Department, Carlos Mellado López, expected tonight that given the bleak snowfall that hit the United States, the supply of COVID-19 vaccines to Puerto Rico would be delayed.
“Everything looks like we will be delayed in vaccines destined for Puerto Rico because of the snowfall in the United States,” Mellado said in a networking publication.
In view of this, the secretary ensures that the vaccination process will have to be adjusted in the coming days in order to continue to distribute the available doses.
Everything indicates that due to the snowfall in the United States, we will be delayed in vaccines destined for Puerto Rico. In the coming days we will have to make an adjustment in the vaccination process.

The winter storm has already killed at least 16 people in the United States after blackouts that, together with low temperatures, have created brutal conditions for millions of people.
President Joe Biden had previously pointed out that the possibility of delays in the movement and delivery of vaccines was on the horizon.
