Exchange rate in Mexico today: how much will the dollar cost next Wednesday, March 10, 2021? Exchange rate | Banamex | Mexican peso | SAT | MX Quote | MEXICO

The exchange rate opened lower in the Mexican market on Wednesday after US inflation data for February was released, which met expectations, causing the US currency to fall.

The US dollar thus traded at 21.0260 Mexican pesos, a loss of 0.76% compared to the 21.1880 peso of the Reuters reference price on Tuesday.

The consumer price index in the United States rose 0.4% from the previous month in February, while annual inflation was 1.7%, the Labor Department reported Thursday.

Core inflation, excluding food and fuel prices, which is the most volatile, has fallen to 1.3% in one year, according to the government report.

The increase in consumer-paid prices in February largely reflects an increase in gasoline costs of 6.4%.

The food price, for its part, rose by 0.2% to 3.6% year-on-year.

The price hike was reported on the day that a new $ 1.9 trillion fiscal stimulus package proposed by US President Joe Biden is expected to be approved in Congress to deal with the economic crisis caused by the pandemic.
