The fiercest race in the world, Exatlón USA, is making a big comeback to Telemundo with a new season that premiered last Tuesday, January 26. With more drama, euphoria, pain and excitement, 24 athletes who were willing to give it their all arrived in a grueling showdown to win more than a million dollars in prizes. This season, the Famous Team (Red Team) and the Contending Team (Blue Team) consist of a combination of newcomers looking for glory in addition to some participants returning for a second chance at the title. The intense family reality show this time has surprising circuits that test the participants’ physical and mental abilities in the greatest challenge of their lives. In this fifth edition, Frederik Oldenburg was welcomed as host, accompanied by the sports reporter and the program’s first champion, Marisela “Chelly” Cantú.

Are there two winners this season?

At the start of the first circuit of the fifth season, host Frederik Oldenburg announced a first: it is the first time that Exatlon USA has two winners, a man and a woman, and both will receive a cash prize of $ 200,000.00.

On the first night, the 12 athletes who returned for the rematch fought each other in a very even battle with 12 new warriors in a season of refined circuits and new challenges that will test all their skills.

There are two known injuries. Who is it?

Team Famosos returned and gave it their all, but while they have not been victorious most days, they have also sustained two injuries to their new warriors. Such is the case with Jeyvier Cintrón, who sustained a cut in her hand, and Anny Garza, who had a sprain that forced her to rest, so both are under medical supervision and temporary rest.

He was the first Puerto Rican to represent the island in two Summer Olympics, including 2012 and 2016. In 2017, he launched himself as a professional boxer competing in world-renowned fights.

Anny Garza, for her part, represents a Latin pride at the age of 32 as she is recognized as the first Mexican woman to be recruited into an American women’s soccer league called Legends League. He currently resides in Austin, Texas and is a member of the Austin Acoustic Team.
