Lil Nas X “defies logic”

Lil Nas X, the star of arguably last year’s cutest commercial (a Doritos dance-off starring Sam Elliott and Sam Elliott’s mustache) returns this year with less brutality for Logitech. The Old Town Road singer, with a range of technicolor fits, shows off futuristic creators who ‘defy logic’ over images from various young artists, illustrators, an incredible makeup artist and musicians. I’m not sure Logitech, the brand of my 2005 webcam, can be cool, but these people sure are.

M & M’s are the new card with no jail time

Someone’s airplane seat kicked? Has the concept of man-plaining made man ready? Did anyone mention a Karen? Called Karen? Nothing a package of M & Ms can’t fix, according to Dan Levy of Schitts Creek and a kidnapped, soon-to-be-eaten green M&M.

Amanda Gorman, 22, the 22-year-old laureate of America’s Youth Poet, whose performance of her poem The Hill We Climb garnered near-universal praise at President Joe Biden’s inauguration last month, recited another wonderful original work honoring three heroes : Trimaine Davis, an educator, Suzie Dorner, a nurse, and James Martin, a Marine veteran. The NFL named the trio honorary captains for the Super Bowl.

Poetry in the Super Bowl is an achievement for art and our country because it means thinking imaginatively about human connection, even when we feel in silence. I will honor 3 heroes who are the best of this endeavor. Here’s to them, to poetry, and to a #SuperBowl like no other 💛

Raya and the last dragon

Disney’s first drop of the night for another movie they are giving a multi-platform release a la Mulan, where Disney + customers can spend stupid money to watch a movie at home that would be in theaters. It looks like lower-level Disney, rather The Good Dinosaur, but it’s another vital step in a more diverse direction with a voice actor including Kelly Marie Tran, Awkwafina, Gemma Chan, Daniel Dae Kim, Benedict Wong and Sandra Oh.

Just ten minutes before kick-off now, President Biden and his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, are speaking out on the veil hanging over today’s festivities: the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, which has killed more than 400,000 Americans. The first family shouted out the front lines and essential workers, holding a moving moment of silence for the lost.

The exceptionally talented HER sings America the Beautiful as if it were a song from her new album, distinctive and full of personality, a wonderful start to the evening. Maybe we can all play HER songs while the football is on?

Video on the go when it runs out. Jazmine Sullivan next. Treat on treat.

Exciting news for anyone who has ever heard the voice of Jazmine Sullivan before: she will play the national anthem with country singer Eric Church. It’s a strange duet on paper (and only the second in Super Bowl history) but let’s see how it turns out. Reports suggest the performance will reflect both “views.”

Also exciting: the excellent HER plays America the Beautiful. Then we can all swerve until the ad breaks.

50 Cent is back in hot water (he’s pretty much living in a giant tank of it these days) after throwing a maskless Friday night party in Florida. The rapper staged a bash in a private airport hanger in St. Petersburg and the mayor isn’t happy:

This is not how we should celebrate the Super Bowl. It’s not safe or smart. It is stupid. We’re going to take a really close look at this, and it could end up costing someone a lot more than 50 cents. @TMZhttps://t.co/Vrvg8fTdBB

He’s not the only one to potentially face fines with other celebrities who are alleged to have the same maskless mischief this weekend.

Dr. Fauci understandably advised that people avoid large gatherings this weekend (more wings for you, it makes sense!)

“I mean watch the Super Bowl on TV, enjoy it.” he said. “Throw a party in your house with your family with the people who are there. But you don’t want parties with people you haven’t interacted with much, you just don’t know if they are infected. So as hard as that is, at least this time, just stay low and cool it down. “

Dawn soap tries to close the gap

Procter & Gamble and its leading dishwashing detergent brand, Dawn, lightly acknowledge a grim reality for many families, Covid lockdown or no: imbalance in the chore. In 65% of homes, most chores fall on one person, one image says about – surprise, surprise – the mother floating above the sink, in a place that gently encourages viewers to come together to close the “job gap.”

Eddie Murphy in Coming 2 America

The Super Bowl ad breaks are usually littered with some of the most exciting new trailers of the year, but as you’d expect given the state of the industry right now, tonight will be a little different.

There were nine new spots last year (mostly for movies yet to be released), but Deadline reports that there may be only five coming later. With movie theaters still largely closed in most of the US, release dates are still in the air, so studios are reluctant to spend an estimated $ 5.5 million on a 30-second tease.

What is known is that we will get our first real look at M Night Shyamalan’s new thriller Old (which he teases on Twitter all week), Amazon will share more of Eddie Murphy’s highly anticipated sequel Coming 2 America (a movie they from Paramount, which will air it tonight), and Disney will push some unconfirmed titles (rumors suggest their Loki TV show will get a spot).

“Thank you very much! Welcome to the TikTok Tailgate everyone. This is my first show in about a year, and I couldn’t imagine a better way to do this than in Tampa, surrounded by healthcare heroes,” she said. appreciate you immensely and all your diligence. And for that we are going to rock hard! “

Here’s a tease if you’re curious:
