Elton John was treated to a fantastic cake and dozens of gushing messages from friends when he celebrated turning 74 on Thursday.
The singer even stated that he had ‘the best birthday ever with my 3 amazing boys’ when he shared a photo that appeared to have been taken to Instagram in a playroom.
To make him feel loved, several friends of the Rocket Man hitmakers and his doting husband David Furnish, 58, also shared friendly messages wishing him a great day.

Elton looked characteristically stylish as he rocked a Gucci T-shirt and statement glasses in his photo that he shared with his 3.3 million followers.
The father of two, who has children, Zachary, 10, and Elijah, eight, appeared to be standing in a playroom as there were several boxes of toys and shelves of books on display.
To mark the big occasion in style, Elton enjoyed a beautiful cake decorated with lots of fruit and shaped into a 74 that was presented on a tropical print plate.
Captioning the images, Elton wrote: ‘I have the best birthday ever with my 3 amazing boys. What could be better ??

David also took to social media on Thursday to celebrate his significant other and shared a fun photo of his beauty wearing glittering star-shaped glasses.
He gushed, ‘Look who decided to dress for their birthday … ??
‘Happy birthday to my extraordinary husband @eltonjohn. I love to share my life with you. I like to work with you. I like parenting with you. You’re my one and only.’
Victoria Beckham also sent her best wishes to her boyfriend on his birthday, posting a photo of them on a boat together.

While Victoria’s eldest son Brooklyn shared a lovely photo with his godfather sending birthday wishes and writing ‘I hope you have the most wonderful day xx’
His father David then joined the celebrations, sharing another photo of a hunting trip with Elton, along with a few birthday GIFs.
Bernie Taupin, Elton’s longtime associate, also wished him the best and wrote, “A very, very happy birthday to my dear, dear friend.

The celebrations come after Elton provided a rare insight into his family life amid the nationwide blockage of the coronavirus.
On a February episode of ITV News, the music icon, which shares sons Zachary, 10, and Elijah, eight, with husband David, admitted that homeschooling is “ hard, ” but insisted his kids were “ great ” during the global crisis.
The singer told ITV News Arts Editor Nina Nannar during the virtual interview: ‘It’s not easy, we’ve been here since May. […] It’s very difficult, but they were great. Children have to interact with each other.

‘But the circumstances are as they are, I had a very positive phone call with Oliver [Dowden] this morning.

The composer later spoke to the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, Oliver Dowden, about the challenges that artists will face after Brexit.
Songwriter Elton said, ‘When it comes to art and music and stuff I have to come forward, I have a responsibility to leave and I want to move forward, I want the future to be bright for everyone.
Late last year, former ad executive David revealed that the pair have a ‘one gift rule’ for each other during the holidays.

During a performance on Loose Women, the Canadian insisted they do raised their children to be ‘grounded’ in life.
He shared: “We have a rule for one gift, because we don’t need anything, we are very blessed in life.
“What I’m most looking forward to is Christmas with our sons, because there’s nothing like Christmas with kids. All the magic for us at Christmas has just disappeared from the charts since we had our boys.
“It’s Dad on the podium. Of course they are very proud of him and they love his songs, but when he comes home he leaves Elton John behind.
It’s always very much Daddy’s job and that’s what he does, but he doesn’t bring it into the household and he doesn’t talk about it in any glorious way. They seem to be pretty grounded about it and I hope it stays that way. ‘
Elton and David entered into a civil partnership in 2005 and were married in 2014 after same-sex marriage became legal in England and Wales in March of that year.
