Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Saturday invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to join him in Clubhouse, the invitation-only audio chat app.

“@KremlinRussia_E wanna talk to me about Clubhouse?” Musk wrote on Twitter.

In a follow-up tweet, Musk wrote, “It would be a great honor to speak to you.” According to Google Translate, that means, “It would be a great honor to talk to you.”

It was not immediately clear from Musk’s statement why he reached out to representatives of the Kremlin. The Twitter handle that Musk has tagged is the official account of the President of Russia, longtime leader Vladimir Putin.

Musk has been active on Clubhouse, a vibrant invitation-only app that allows users to participate in drop-in audio calls. Other high-profile founders and executives have also logged into Clubhouse for talks, including Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer.

The Kremlin Twitter account had not responded to Musk’s message early Sunday morning. Insider reached out to the Kremlin on Sunday for comment.
