Tesla, led by Elon Musk, confirmed that it bought about $ 1.5 billion worth of bitcoin in January and expects to accept it as payment in the future.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced on Tuesday that it is now possible to buy Tesla vehicles in the US with bitcoin.
The automaker revealed last month that it had purchased $ 1.5 billion worth of bitcoin and that it would soon begin accepting the world’s most popular cryptocurrency as a form of payment.
“You can now buy a Tesla with Bitcoin,” he tweeted.
People outside the US can buy a Tesla with bitcoin “later this year,” Musk said, without specifying which countries.
To accept payment, Musk said Tesla uses “internal” and “open source software.”
He added that Tesla “directly manages bitcoin nodes.” Nodes are computers on bitcoin’s network that verify transactions and prevent the cryptocurrency from being spent twice.
