Elon Musk reveals the only console game he’s ever played

Elon Musk is no stranger to video games. The popular Tesla CEO has not only made sure that his cars can play video games over the years, but he has also always let us know when he plays a new title himself. Despite mostly sticking to the PC platform, Musk has now unveiled the only game franchise he’s willing to break to play on consoles.

In a new interaction on Twitter, Musk was asked what his favorite console game is. In the past, Musk has made it clear that he spends his gaming time mostly on PC, but the world-renowned business tycoon revealed that the Halo series is the only franchise he’s played on consoles. Musk specifically noted that Halo was the “only” game he’d ever played on a platform outside of PC, clearly showing his loyalty to the hardware. On the other hand, if you’re the richest man in the world and you can afford a PC installation that others can only dream of, it’s hard to blame him for not playing on consoles.

The ironic thing about Musk’s statement is that most of the main lines of Halo series are no longer tied to consoles. In the past year, developer 343 Industries has completed the whole of Halo: The Master Chief Collection to PC. In total, this collection contains six entries in the series, with Halo 5: Guardians being the only notable absence. So if Musk still wanted to play the games, but preferred to do it on PC, he now has that option.

In the past month, it appears that Musk has been consumed by more Cyberpunk 2077. Despite clearly having some struggles with the game, including the sheer number of updates it needed, Musk has continued to praise its aesthetic and design.

It remains to be seen whether a future release on consoles will convince Musk to jump off board, but if he’s not won at this point, he probably never will. On the other hand, given how busy Musk likely is, I’m sure he’s happy when he can only play once.
