Elon Musk mocks ‘Woketopia’ in sarcastic tweet proposing video game to ‘fight for the moral high ground’

Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk has made an effort to take a look at the ‘awakened’ culture in a tweet that envisions a world consumed by demands of social justice as an exciting new video game.
‘Woketopia. Battle for the Moral High Ground in this new game! Tesla CEO wrote in a tweet on Saturday.
Musk did not proceed, and it was not immediately clear what had triggered the comment.
It came shortly after a report that hundreds of employees at Tesla’s California plant had contracted COVID-19 after Musk urged them to return to work amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Musk has also been criticized for his skepticism about coronavirus vaccines, including concerns he has raised about potential side effects.
‘Woketopia’, the concept of an awakened utopia dominated by demands of social justice, is a phrase that has also been used by Don Trump Jr and commentator Bill Maher, among others.
Musk’s proposal for a ‘Woketopia’ video game met with mixed reactions from his followers.
Computer scientist Paul Graham replied, “That would actually be an interesting game to design.” But game designer Tyler Galilee sneered, “Okay Boomer.”
In another strange tweet on Sunday, Musk wrote, ‘I love music. It makes my heart sing. ‘
Musk has long shown an interest in video games and once credited computer games for first taking an interest in programming.
At the age of 12, he designed a computer game called Blastar, which he sold for $ 500 to PC and Office Technology magazine. A version of the game is still playable online.

On Thursday, a Tesla investor filed a lawsuit over Musk’s “ erratic ” tweets, accusing him of violating his 2018 settlement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for his Twitter use.
The complaint highlighted several Musk posts on the social media platform Twitter, including his assessment from May 1 that Tesla’s stock price was “ too high, ” leading to a drop in Tesla’s market value by more than $ 13 billion.
The lawsuit was filed, though Tesla’s stock price has nearly quintupled since Musk’s “ too high ” tweet, putting Tesla at well above $ 600 billion, and the SEC has not publicly accused Musk of recent violations.
The SEC settlement followed Musk’s tweet in August 2018 that he had “ secured funding ” to potentially take Tesla private in a $ 72 billion transaction. In reality, Musk was not close.
Musk and Tesla each paid $ 20 million in civil fines, and Tesla attorneys agreed to pre-examine some of Musk’s tweets.
The settlement was later amended to clarify when pre-approvals were required, prompted by an unscreened tweet from Musk about Tesla’s vehicle production prediction.
Last April, a federal judge in San Francisco said Tesla and Musk should file a lawsuit alleging that Musk’s private tweet defrauded shareholders. That case remains pending.
