“Hi friends, I want to share with you that I am trans, my pronouns are he / she and my name is Elliot. I am lucky enough to write this. To be here. I have come to this place in my life. I feel overwhelming gratitude for the incredible people who supported me on this amazing journey. I can’t begin to express how extraordinary it feels to finally love what I am, enough to achieve my true self, ”said the artist in a statement shared on his official profiles.
The letter shared by Page made it clear that his commitment is one of full support for all who are following a path of acceptance and transition, as he has experienced; but also protection for all those who have been violated and marginalized because of their sexual preferences. “To all trans people who face daily intimidation, self-hatred, abuse and the threat of violence, I see you, I love you and I will do everything I can to change this world for the better,” he added in his letter.
Page affirmed that he is a “queer” person, that is, he is a person “whose gender identity is not included or transcends the gender dichotomy,” according to the definitions of international human rights organizations.
