El Mencho’s daughter pleads guilty to drug trafficking in the US

Jessica Oseguera GonzalezNemesio Oseguera Cervantes, aka El Mencho, the daughter of the most wanted drug trafficker by the United States and Mexico, pleaded guilty on Friday to having financial ties with Mexican companies associated with the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel (CJNG), which are father leads.

The US Department of Justice said in a statement that the 34-year-old woman of dual US-Mexican citizenship pleaded guilty to “intentionally participating in financial deals” with six Mexican companies sanctioned by Washington for providing support materials to the CJNG.

“Today’s guilty plea is the result of our unwavering commitment to disrupt and dismantle all aspects of the CJNG organization,” said Special Agent Bill Bodner of the Los Angeles Division of the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) .

Court documents show that the defendant owned two of the sanctioned companies, J&P Advertising SA and JJGON, as well as a director or agent of four other Mexican companies designated by Washington, Las Flores Cabanas, Mizu Sushi Lounge, Tequila Onze Black and Operadora Los Famosos SA

Sanctions imposed

According to the United States, the inmate remained the owner, agent or director of these companies after the sanctions imposed by the United States government.

The verdict in this case is expected to be handed down on June 11 and the accused will face a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison.

Last month, Oseguera González She was arrested in Washington DC when she tried to speak to her brother Rubén Oseguera González, known as El Menchito, after he was extradited from Mexico before a court in the US capital last week.
