Blimey, 2020 was a bit of a slog, wasn’t it? It is unlikely to be remembered as a particularly peak year in human history, with a global pandemic effectively shutting down the entire world. We’ve had to limit things we love to do to protect people, and many of us will have lost loved ones to a virus that was not seen in very like dramatic light.

2021 doesn’t look like it’s all going to be that different – from where we are in the UK a national lockdown has been effectively put in place meaning we’ll start the new year in much the same way we’ve spent most of 2020 – but there are still reasons to stay cheerful. The best techies on the planet have discovered a vaccine and, fingers crossed, the New Year’s message we’ll be posting 12 months from now will be a little Happier.

Anyway, enough of all that, let’s take a moment to look ahead to 2021. What new games do you think we’ll see? How are events like E3, Gamescom and PAX going this year? Shall Bayonetta 3 And last but not least see release, or are we just told that “development is going well again”? How many more staff will Retro hire to work on Metroid Prime 4? Will the cursed Switch Pro really materialize?

We’re not sure 2021 has the answers to all these questions, but we want to take this opportunity to wish you all a happy and enjoyable year – and thank you for making Nintendo Life the site it is today. On that topic, it’s worth pointing out that we’ve had a record year for traffic across the Nlife Network – our sister sites Push Square and Pure Xbox enjoyed their greatest years yet, with all three sites scoring 361,424,293 together. page views over past 12 months – so 2020 was not all of them bad, we recommend.
