Dunn Clinic Dispensing 3,000 COVID-19 Vaccines Friday :: WRAL.com

– The Harnett Health System will host its first massive COVID-19 vaccine clinic Friday for key frontline workers in Group 3.

The clinic takes place from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at the City of Dunn Community Center at 205 Jackson Road.

According to officials, the Harnett Health System has administered 14,000 vaccines since March, with mass clinics held every week. Friday’s clinic will be the first clinic open to all primary care workers in Group 3. Organizers hope to vaccinate at least 3,000 people in one day – double the amount of vaccines usually given in their clinics.

Drive-up and walk-up services are both available and appointments are not required. The clinic will be run by hospital staff from Harnett Health System and nursing and medical students from Campbell University.

“I feel like it will give me a little more assurance and more relief – more comfortable than I am now,” said 70-year-old Oscar Rodriguez, who showed up before 4:30 to wait for his second. dose of the vaccine.

“In a very bleak and depressing year, it is nice to have a ray of hope with these vaccines,” said Cory Hess, president of Harnett Health. “People are happy when they leave here and they can go back to their lives and see the grandchildren again, so things are trending the right way.”

According to Hess, while there are still a significant number of COVID-19 cases at Central Harnett Hospital, the totals are “nowhere near what we had in January.”

People who cannot receive a vaccine on Friday can visit a clinic at Western Harnett High School in Lillington on Wednesday, March 10, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
