Driver injured when vehicle crashes into utility pole on Las Positas Road in Santa Barbara | Local news

According to the Santa Barbara City Fire Department, a motorist was injured on Thursday when his vehicle crashed into a utility pole on Las Positas Road in Santa Barbara.

Emergency personnel were sent to the 2900 block of Las Positas shortly before 10 a.m., where the silver sedan had been ripped off the Southern California Edison post next to the municipal golf course, firefighter Kevin Corbett told Noozhawk.

The driver, a man in his forties whose name was not known, sustained minor to moderate injuries and was taken to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital by AMR ambulance.

Details about his condition were not available.

Southern California Edison’s crews responded to the scene to fix the utility lines, and Las Positas was closed between Stanley Drive and McCaw Avenues during the repairs.

Power was reported to a number of customers in the area after the crash, which was being investigated by the Santa Barbara Police Department.
