After his elimination in the Warriors’ buzzing loss to the Charlotte Hornets last week, Draymond Green has Friday’s rematch at Chase Center on his calendar.
Green blamed himself again for the double technical in an interview Wednesday after Golden State’s 111-107 win over the Indiana Pacers, saying he believed he had let the Warriors down.
“For us to go out and basically get that victory [without Steph Curry] and that it cost us the game was bulls-t, “Green told Bonta Hill, Chris Mullin and Dorell Wright on” Warriors Postgame Live. ” I knew I had to come back to play well, and I’m excited for the Charlotte game coming up because we gave them one they shouldn’t have. I gave them one they shouldn’t have, so I have to get it back. “
Green was not far from a triple-double in one of his first two games after the elimination. He recorded seven points, 12 assists, and nine rebounds in the Warriors ‘victory over the New York Knicks on Tuesday, and Green then posted 12 points, 11 assists, and 9 rebounds in the Pacers’ win.
His 12 points are a season high, and that’s only the fourth time he’s scored in double digits this season. Green’s play was closer to what has become his usual standard as he scored at least 10 assists for the 10th time this season.
“When you look around the NBA, there isn’t much ball movement, and certainly not much player movement outside of the ball,” Green said of finding open teammates within the Warriors offense. “… I just said to these guys, ‘Keep moving, keep cutting, never stay still. The easiest guy to defend is a stagnant player, so I’m just telling these guys to keep moving and do that. they do a great job. “

The Warriors improved to 7-3 in games where Green registers double-digit assists, and Golden State is 4-0 when the 30-year-old has scored at least 10 points.
No doubt Green wants to beat those records with a big performance on Friday, and if you do in a win, it would go a long way in overtaking his elimination.
