Dr. Alejandro Goic Goic, 2006 National Prize for Medicine, dies

The Medical College and the University of Chile expressed their regret over the death of Alejandro Goic Goic, an outstanding academic and winner of the 2006 National Prize for Medicine.

Ennio Vivaldi, Rector of the University of Chile, covered the news, referring to the event, qualifying it as “a great loss for the university, for science and for the country ”.

In early March 2006, a jury chaired by the Doctor Octavio Enríquez, then Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Concepción and President of the National Ethical Court of the Medical College, voted to award Alejandro Goic Goic the National Prize of Medicine.
