Double A baseball player suffers an accident and is in a vulnerable condition

The Puerto Rico Baseball Federation confirmed on Saturday that the player of the Próceres de Barranquitas in the Double A Baseball tournament, Arnaldo Berríos, suffered an accident in an all-terrain vehicle in Barranquitas yesterday, Friday and is in a vulnerable condition.

“We unite in prayer for the health of the Próceres de Barranquitas player, Arnaldo Berríos,” the Federation wrote on its Twitter account.

According to a police report, the accident took place Friday evening in the Helechal neighborhood of Barranquitas. According to the report, the player’s partner died instantly.

Berríos, 25, a graduate of the Carlos Beltrán Baseball Academy, was claimed in the 2014 Major League Baseball rookie draft in the 39th round by the New York Mets. He was in the organization until 2017 and reached Triple A level.

In winter baseball, he also played for three seasons with the Criollos de Caguas. And in Double A Baseball it belongs to the Próceres.
