Donald Guerrero will be questioned again by the PGR on Wednesday

Former Treasury Secretary Donald Guerrero said on Monday that he will have to return to the Public Prosecution Service for a third time, where he was questioned by the Special Prosecutor for Administrative Corruption Prosecutor (Pepca).

The appointment is scheduled for next Wednesday, at 4 PM.

Leaving the aforementioned institution, Guerrero said the interpellations are linked to the issue of transparency, and given his status as a former civil servant, he should be available to respond to any mistake.

“I came to answer some of the questions that as a former government official you should be willing to explain any question that arises in the context of transparency,” said the former finance minister.

As agreed, Guerrero arrived at the Attorney General’s office at 3 p.m. this Monday, so the interview, directed by Yeni Berenice Reynoso, General Manager of Prosecution for the Public Prosecution Service and the head of Pepca Wilson Camacho, took about three hours.

The former minister, who was accompanied by three legal representatives, was questioned about the amounts in his affidavit of assets offered for RD $ 768,321,216 and the management of funds during his tenure with the Treasury Department.

The first interrogation was last Friday and was suspended due to commitments made by the former official.

Donald Guerrero was Secretary of the Treasury from 2016-2020 and is a member of the Central Committee of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD).

Also subpoenaed for affidavit of assets

Other former officials have been mentioned in recent months; Among them, Pedro Brand’s mayor, Wilson Paniagua, who visited Pepca twice for declaring a fortune in excess of RD $ 1,000 million pesos, was questioned by Yeni Berenice and Wilson Camacho, both deputy attorneys.

Another cited, who has only appeared once, was the interim president of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), Juan Temístocles Montás, who was asked to be questioned about the ‘obstacles’ that that political party would have placed in the audit work of the Court of Auditors. to the funds received by the Central Electoral Office (JCE) in 2012 and 2016.

The Attorney General of the Republic, Miriam Germán Brito, had said she does not know why the PLD had to hinder the work of the Court, but announced that the Public Prosecution Service already has an ongoing investigation into this regard. On that occasion, Montás came out through the cellar and could not be contacted by the press.

Lucia Medina, sister of former President Danilo Medina, joins the list of those who have been subpoenaed to testify for their affidavit amounts in the affidavit of assets, who were present in the company of several lawyers and, like Montás, made no statements made to the press about the summons.

Kinsberly Taveras, the former youth minister, was also seen before the attorney general’s office, requesting a permit and then resigning just months after his appointment.

Felix Bautista, senator for San Juan de la Maguana, appeared on three occasions to be questioned, the senator during his last visit to Pepca said it was only to deliver a document with an attachment of 170 papers showing his belongings justify.

Radhamés Camacho, National Deputy and Member of the PLD Political Committee declared assets for RD $ 80,410,687.07. Hence, the fortune it exhibits has at times been questioned and delays in affidavit have been criticized as well.
