While it is certainly more of a feature than a bug, DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow on The CW has made a lot of cast sales over the five seasons (a sixth will premiere on May 2), with Caity Lotz’s Sara Lance and Dominic Purcell’s Mick Rory being the only cast members of the pilot left – not counting trusted AI – navigator Gideon, played by Amy Louise Pemberton, both in voice and on the rare occasions when she has a physical body. Unfortunately, at the end of the show’s sixth season, it sounds like another member of the Waverider’s show crew will be stepping down … but there’s some drama here that needs to be addressed.
We’re talking about Purcell, whose Mick Rory has been a little odd on the show for the past few years, given that his storylines often don’t want to venture out so he can stay in his room and get drunk (again, don’t feature bug). On Saturday morning, Purcell posted a message Instagram saying he was leaving the show after season six, but that’s not all he said! The post has since been removed, but it said that “the studio” (Warner Bros., or at least the TV arm) “doesn’t care,” and asked his future cast members to keep an eye out. keep on newcomers so they don’t get screwed by the studio. He also added that curious actors should send him a DM to talk about ‘fake’ [c-words]
When that message started appearing, Purcell deleted it and replaced it with a nearly identical message that contained all colorful complaints about the studio with nice things about the “great relationships” he has built with the cast and crew. He acknowledged the previous post and said it was “tough” and “straight to the point” because that’s who he is, but he also said he doesn’t have “beef” with the studio and was just “frustrated and annoyed” ” Because he is “locked up in Vancouver for nine months” so they can film during the pandemic. Finally, he also noted that he is not actually leaving because he is still under contract through season seven, that he has a “great relationship”. with the people running the show and that it will continue to appear “periodically”.
Then he deleted Which post and replaced it with a completely different one where he joked about how much attention his over-the-top comments got and how it was most of the press DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow had gotten in years. Then – and you’re not gonna believe this –he deleted that message and hasn’t said anything since. Deadline says that The CW and WBTV have not released any comments, however DeadlineThe sources say cast negotiations for the next season haven’t even started yet, so it’s unclear if Purcell is actually going to leave or if he (as he said) just aired.
