Dolly Parton has been fully vaccinated after receiving her second dose of the Moderna shot to combat COVID-19.
The legendary 75-year-old singer joked that she got a ‘second dose of her own medicine’ after donating $ 1 million to those working on the vaccine.
The 9 to 5 hitmaker looked stylish as ever and took to social media to share the momentous occasion.

Her official Twitter page shared two images of her getting her second shot, and she joked ‘Dolly is getting a (second) dose of her own medicine’.
She also thanked Dr. Naji Abumrad, Andrea Calhoun and Heather O’Dell from @VUMChealth who delivered the dose.
Last month she shared a photo of her getting her first dose on social media with the caption: ‘Dolly gets a dose of her own medicine, ”and this time she kept on keeping the joke alive.
Dolly had insisted she wait for her coronavirus vaccine because she didn’t want people to think it was a show, adding that there were others who needed it more.

Giving back: “When the pandemic first hit, that was my first thought:” I have to do something to help find a vaccination, “she shared her decision to donate $ 1 million.
‘No. I’m not going to get mine until there are more people around. I don’t want it to look like I’m jumping the line just because I’ve donated money. I’m very funny about that, ”she said in February.
She assured, “I’ll go get mine, but I’ll wait. I’m at the age I could have legally gotten mine last week. I turned 75 – her age makes her one of the first eligible groups.
Although she said she would ‘keep doing it’ [her] birthday ‘she decided to wait. ‘I thought, “No, don’t do that.” You look like you are just doing a show. None of my work is really like that. ‘

And Dolly said she was just “ happy to be a part ” of the vaccine’s creation and felt compelled to do something when the pandemic hit.
I follow my heart. I am a person of faith and I pray all the time that God will lead me in the right direction and let me know what to do. When the pandemic first hit, that was my first thought, “I need to do something to help find a vaccination.” ‘
‘I just did some research with the people at Vanderbilt [University] – they’re wonderful people, they’ve been so good to my people over the years in times of sickness and stuff, ”she said of her Tennessee roots.
“I just asked if I could donate a million dollars to research for a vaccine. I get a lot more credit than I deserve, I guess, but I was just happy to be a part of that, ‘she shared.
