Dog bites a child under 3 years old in Lajas

Authorities reported that a 3-year-old boy was bitten by a dog, a pit bull, during events that took place last night, Wednesday, in the Papayo neighborhood of Lajas.

According to police information, the minor was taken to La Concepción de San Germán hospital where he was diagnosed with a fractured right collarbone, four broken ribs, a perforated lung, a fractured skull and required stitches in various parts of the body.

The little boy was taken to the Río Piedras Medical Center.

The case was referred to the sex crimes department of the Mayagüez CIC and Agent Nieves, from the technical department, worked on the scene.
