Dodgers, Corey Seager hit referee home run

The Los Angeles Dodgers and shortstop Corey Seager have avoided arbitration, noted MLB Network journalist Jon Heyman. Seager, a customer of Boras Corporation, will receive a salary of $ 13.75 million in the 2021 season. At just 26 years old, Seager has already earned a number of career accolades, including National League Rookie of the Year in 2016.

He also won the 2020 NLCS MVP and World Series MVP, and two All-Star Game nominations. Even before his playoff split last fall, it was an exceptional season for Seager, who hit .307 / .358 / .585 (151 wRC +) with 15 homeruns in 232 at bats.

The money-issuing Dodgers could certainly renew Seager soon, but as of now, he’s on the cusp of becoming one of the most coveted players in next winter’s free agent market.

Seager could be part of a ridiculously deep shortstop class as Francisco Lindor, Trevor Story and fellow Puerto Ricans Carlos Correa and Javier Báez will also be in attendance. They are all under the age of 28.
