DJI FPV drone unboxing video shows it all prior to launch

An unboxing video from the DJI FPV drone has been doing laps around the internet for the past day showing us pretty much everything. Let’s take a look at and discuss the video before deleting it again.

The video first appeared on the Dominion Drones channel before being removed shortly after. A few people managed to download and re-upload the video to YouTube, allowing us to watch the video again.

If the video is removed from YouTube again, we will go through the video thoroughly for those who read it without the video. Only the things we have not seen or noticed before are mentioned. So there may be a few things that we don’t notice.

The video

The packaging stays in line with the rest of DJI’s drones, with a clean white box and the images of the products inside. The packaging is also not for sale in the top right corner, as this is only a demo unit. The box opens and the FPV drone is on display next to the FPV goggles V2.

DJI FPV drone

The word FPV is written on the side of the drone with the standard DJI logo on the back. The two smaller front cameras match two bottom cameras, meaning they are used for obstacle avoidance and probably ActiveTrack, rather than FPV cameras. The bottom of the drone also has two infrared sensors and an LED light to aid in low-light landing.

FPV goggles

We then look at the new glasses. As it turns out, it has a joystick, record button, and another top-right button, with foam that apparently feels a lot better than the V1. There are also two buttons on the left and a MicroSD card slot and USB-C charging port. The video also states that the glasses are a lot lighter, which is great to hear. There are also two adjustment sliders on the bottom of the glasses.

FPV controller

Looking at the controller, we can now see that it is full of buttons at the top. It appears to have the standard gimbal adjustment slider and the capture / photo button. There is also a start / stop button, a 3-way switch with arrows on it, a flight pause / return home button and a 3-way switch for the flight mode.

accessories

Next, we’ll take a look at the triple propellers, two sets. The charger for the batteries, glasses and controller of the drone. It also appears to come with a small power bank to extend battery life in the field. The last box has the glasses antennas and headband and a replacement hood in a bright green color. This allows DJI FPV drones in a race to be easily tracked by the pilots and spectators. The usual cables and papers are also included in this box.

And that’s where the video ends. Watch the video below while you still can.
