Diego Lainez, the only Mexican in the CONCACAF U20 Ideal XI

The most notable elements of the IFFHS’s elf type are Canadian Alphonso Davies and Sergino Dest

The International Federation of Football History and Statistics published its ideal eleven of the best CONCACAF footballers under 20 and the only Mexican player out there is Diego Lainez.

Diego forms an attacking trident with Canadian Jonathan David and North American Giovanni Reyna from Lille and Borussia Dortmund respectively. The former América player and current element of Real Betis has positioned himself as one of the most interesting players in Aztec football and little by little he is starting to become a key element in the plan of Manuel Pellegrini, Betis quarterback.

Lainez, valued at 7.5 million euros by the Transfermarkt portal, arrived at LaLiga in early 2019 and has 12 appearances in the Spanish championship this season.

The most notable elements of the IFFHS’s eleven type are Canadian Alphonso Davies, champion of the ‘sextete’ with Bayern Munich, and Sergino Dest, who was hired by Barcelona last summer.

The other members are: Kevin Chamorro (Costa Rica / San Carlos), Brayan Reynolds (USA / FC Dallas / AS Roma), Chris Richards (USA / FC Bayern Munich), Cole Bossett (USA / Colorado Rapids), Alex Méndez (USA / Ajax Amsterdam) and Brenden Aaronson (USA / RB Salzburg).
