Did the Official Pokémon Twitter Account Just Tease a Diamond and Pearl?

Pokemon Diamond and Pearl

This weekend, on February 27th, the Pokémon series will celebrate 25 years since the launch of the original Game Boy titles.

Rumors have been circulating, and now the official Pokémon Twitter account seems to be joining in the fun. It is currently counting down with several generations of pocket monsters. With four days to go, the next tweet is shared saying “Let’s go, Sinnoh”.

Despite the fact that the same account points to other Pokémon games and generations in the daily countdown, this particular tweet has some fans pretty excited.

The Sinnoh region was first introduced in the fourth generation on the right Pokémon Diamond & Pearl for Nintendo DS.

Just in case you forgot, last month Spanish fansite Centro Pokémon reportedly confirmed Switch remakes of the Pokémon Diamond & Pearl DS titles were in development and would be unveiled around the time of Pokémon Day, on February 27th.

“Pokémon Center can confirm that, according to sources close to the company, remakes of Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl, originally released in 2006 for Nintendo DS, are in development for Nintendo Switch.”

A much older rumor dating back to 2019 suggests that possible Diamond and Pearl remakes would be about ‘let’s catch’ (the catch mechanism first introduced in the Pokémon: Let’s Go spell). Centro Pokémon has said new versions should not so are, but instead closer in style to the original 2006 releases.

Since the original report, Centro Pokémon is still just as confident something “Big” is on its way – with his Twitter account last week, the message tweeted that fans “don’t have to wait until Pokémon Day on Feb. 27 for the big news” (translated by Google). Attached to this is a clip of the legends of Diamond, Pearl and Platinum:

As if that wasn’t enough, it looks like the Poké Ball Plus (first released alongside the Let’s Go games) is getting a timely reprint. Last year we saw reprints of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild champions that eventually led to the announcement of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity

Keep in mind that we’re just days away from Pokémon’s 25th anniversary, so everything will be revealed soon. What do you think of this yourself? Leave a comment below.
