Did Faith Hill and Tim McGraw mention a private island in the Bahamas?

A private island of nearly 20 acres in the Bahamas has just been put up for sale asking $ 35 million – and it appears to belong to country music stars Faith Hill and Tim McGraw.

The sultry retreat, called L’île d’Anges, was the subject of an Architectural Digest cover profile in 2017. The couple bought the island in 2003, but reportedly moved in 2012. In the story, they admit that it is spreading to a private home required more work than they thought.

“We wanted to build a house,” Hill told the publication. “We had no idea we had to build everything else. We actually had to build a town. “

That included staff housing, infrastructure for construction crews, water and electricity.

“You don’t quite put all of that together in the beginning,” said McGraw.

So over the course of a decade, the family – including the couple’s three daughters – stayed in seaside yurts while the permanent home was being built.

“It was like camping,” Hill told AD. “The kids loved it!”

The two yurts are advertised on the listing, marketed by Knight Frank, who adds that they “were originally built as temporary accommodation.” The AD story additionally mentions that the house is a collection of eight ‘pavilions’, which are described in the listing as ‘pods’ all connected by nearly 5,000 square feet of covered porches and walkways.

Knight Frank declined to comment on this story. It’s not clear if the couple still owns the property, but a separate luxury real estate brokerage in the Bahamas – in a blog post published in 2020 – lists the island as theirs. It doesn’t appear that the island has been sold in the years since Hill and McGraw bought it.

Representatives for McGraw and Hill did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.

L’île d’Anges, also known as Goat Cay, has more than a mile of waterfront. The main building is located on a high point in the center of the island and measures 6,517 square meters. There is a great space for entertaining family and guests – and the living room opens out to the pool terrace. Frame images additionally show an open kitchen and dining area, private beaches, and a dock.

The listing adds that four bedrooms, five bathrooms and, on the north side of the island, approximately 6,000 square feet of secondary accommodation are required to operate the property. They include three staff houses, technical facilities and mechanical storage.

According to the listing, L’île d’Anges is an 80-minute flight from Miami.
