The Switch may have only Disaster Report 4: Summer Memories in April, but the developer of the series, Granzella, has seemingly already started the fifth game.

In a retrospective 2020 article on the official website, the ending of a section on the fourth game discusses the fifth title. It mentions how “planning and partial prototyping” is for Disaster report 5 has already started and I look forward to more news in the future. Here’s the full post:

Rumors about a “5

Some of you may be saying “All you have to say is ads?”, So I’ll talk a little bit about our next title.

According to information obtained from sources that I cannot disclose, plans and partly prototypes Disaster report 5 seems to have already started.

As for whether “Stiver Island” (Capital Island) is involved in the story this time… I’ll leave it at that for now, because I’d rather not lose my job.

Look forward to more news in the future!

As Gematsu noted, it’s not the first time Granzella has necessarily teased the fifth game, but it’s the most official so far.

Disaster Report 4: Summer Memories contains many references to a fifth entry – including the ability to change the title screen to read “Disaster Report 5?“- so it’s no surprise that a fifth game is underway.

If you want to know more about this series before the next game officially announced, be sure to check out the fourth entry, now available on the Switch. You can also read our review.
