Detroit residents aged 60 and older with certain medical conditions can now receive the COVID-19 vaccine

DETROIT – Detroit residents who are 60 and older and have certain chronic medical conditions can now get it the COVID-19 vaccine, Mayor Mike Duggan said.

“Detroit is committed to making vaccines available to all of our most vulnerable residents,” said Duggan. “People with diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, or other chronic conditions have far more death rates from COVID than the general population.”

The vaccinations will take place at the TCF Center, Duggan said. Eligible residents must make an appointment with TCF starting Wednesday call 313-230-0505

Wheelchair friendly transport can be arranged by call 313-208-7364

“I am pleased with the Governor’s support that we are able to bring the age back to 60 for people with chronic illnesses. I hope we can lower the age back to 55 in the near future,” said Denise Fair, Chief Public Health Officer in Detroit said.
