Detroit is extending eligibility for the COVID vaccine to all on-site employees living or working in the city

The city of Detroit is more eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine, so that anyone who lives or works in the city and must report to work.

Previously, only certain categories of workers who reported to a job site, such as teachers, postmen, food processors and production workers, were eligible. Now all on-site employees are eligible, provided they live or work in the city, such as bank branch staff and other officers.

Mayor Mike Duggan said any major employer who can draft at least 100 employees ahead of time can ask the Detroit Health Department to perform on-site vaccinations, instead of having to travel to TCF. Employers who are able to bring together large groups of more than 100 employees over the course of a day can call the Detroit Means Business call center at (844) 333-8249 to arrange a visit to the health department.

All other onsite workers who are now eligible must schedule their appointment by calling the city’s central vaccine planning number at 313-230-0505
