Detroit Airport Passenger Caught Secretly Hidden $ 60G in a Sanitary Pad Package

These “ultra-thin” blocks were full of cash.

U.S. Customs and Border Guardians at Detroit Metropolitan Airport discovered more than $ 60,000 in cash hidden in a package of sanitary pads in a passenger’s luggage on Feb. 3.

The undeclared currency was bundled in envelopes hidden in the package, CBP officers said. The woman had told the officers she only had $ 1,000 with her.

The agents confiscated the money because the woman violated currency reporting requirements, officials said. United States law requires that anyone transporting more than $ 10,000 into or out of the country report it to a CBP officer. Anyone who fails to declare the currency will face civil fines or seizure of the money.
