Destruction AllStars, the PlayStation 5-exclusive derby game, will soon be selling for $ 20, developer Lucid Games announced today – a $ 50 price cut from the game’s original $ 70 sticker price.

Last September, at a digital showcase, Sony announced that some PS5 games would cost $ 70, a notable increase from the long standard price of $ 60. One of those games, Destruction AllStars, was initially planned as a PS5 launch title, but was pushed back with three months in October. In February, it became available to PS Plus members at no additional cost. Unlike most “free” PS Plus games, it would stay that way for two months instead of one.

Once the two-month PS Plus period ends on April 6, Destruction AllStars will sell for $ 20.

Destruction AllStars was plagued with some issues at launch, most notably that party chat was enabled by default, with no in-game options to disable itFurthermore, the voice chat was forwarded through that tiny speaker on the face of PS5 controllers. (I know. Criminal.) An early hot fix fixed the issue, giving players the option to silence other players.

Purely based on gameplay merits, Destruction AllStars is kind of fun in bursts, and feels a bit like other online games that have gained popularity through moments of zero-dollar sticker prices. (See: Fall guys Rocket League.) It also offers microtransactions. I wouldn’t be surprised if, Like it Rocket League for the, the $ 20 price tag will plummet to $ 0 at some point in the future.
