Destiny 2: Season of the Chosen announced, adds Battlegrounds mode, new and old attacks, and gear

Bungie has revealed Destiny 2 Season 13, the Season of the Chosen – and given us a look at what’s to come. Season of the Chosen, which kicks off February 9 and runs through May 11, introduces new attacks, new gear and an all-new mode called Battlegrounds.

Battlegrounds is a three-player match-made activity where players engage in “ritual battles” against the warriors of the Cabal. Attacks old and new will also be peppered throughout Season 13, with Destiny strikes Devil’s Lair and Fallen SABER returning at the start of the season, and a new attack called Proving Grounds that will be unlocked later, which will “determine the fate of the Last City. “.Players who own the Destiny 2 Season Pass will unlock the Praefectus Armor Set and an exotic bow called Ticcu’s Divination, which launches sun arrows that can track “multiple targets at once”. In addition to the Season Pass additions, more than 25 new weapons are also being added.

Season 13’s story revolves around a political feud between Empress Caiatl and Zavala. “With the pyramids and Xivu Arath destabilizing the system, the Empress Caiatl, leader of the Cabal and daughter of Calus, is looking for an alliance. But if she asks for more than Zavala can offer, the negotiations will collapse.” Guardians will battle Caiatl’s growing war council to stabilize the situation.

In other Destiny 2 news, the community has expressed concern about Bungie’s plans for crossplay on PC and console. Bungie recently filed a lawsuit with Riot targeting cheat companies allegedly making software hacks for Destiny 2.
