The designated secretary of the Education departmentElba Aponte Santos, met with legislators, officials from regional offices and mayors from the south of the country to work out the plan to reopen schools.
In a post on Twitter, the agency shared images of the various gatherings it held.

Governor Pedro Pierluisi Urrutia yesterday announced his intention to reopen the country’s schools in early March and to vaccinate all school staff to prevent additional infections.
