Demi Lovato got a lot of people scratching their heads about it – she got mad that a fro-yo store is promoting ‘diet’ options … something she considers enticing and harmful.
The singer took to IG on Saturday to shout out a frozen yogurt joint called The Bigg Chill … which apparently has low-sugar / low-fat / fat-free treats positioned at the front of one of their stores and / or tills.
She writes, “I find it extremely difficult to order froyo from @thebiggchillofficial when you have to walk past tons of sugar-free cookies / other diet foods before going to the counter.”
Demi told them to “do better” … and hashtagged her complaint with #dietculturevultures. If you don’t know what the hell she’s mad about … you’re not alone.
However, she went on to elaborate on another comment, saying she will use that hashtag to proclaim “ harmful messages ” from brands she believes perpetuate a society that enables and also praises disordered eating.
What she SEEMS to say … by this place putting this low cal food in people’s faces like this they also ridicule / shame them, and make them feel bad for wanting a treat, what Demi considered hurtful especially to people with eating disorders and physical problems.
TBC responded to Demi in her DMs, which she published. They explained that they have those alternatives for diabetics, celiac people, vegans, and a host of others who want (or need) the so-called “diet” options. Demi seems to have realized … she jumped to conclusions and perhaps even overreacted, as noted in her response.

She recommends them to label things better to be more inclusive.
